Book fair gets under way in city

SHILLONG, April 25: A two-day book fair got under way in the city on Monday, the inaugural programme for which was organised at the auditorium of Shillong College.
Organised by the Central Library & IQAC of Shillong College in collaboration with Shillong Commerce College and College of Teacher Education (PGT) Shillong, inaugural programme was attended by all major book sellers and publishers from Meghalaya along with the students and faculty members of the aforementioned colleges.
The programme was attended by principal of Shillong College Dr E Kharkongor, principal of Shillong Commerce College Dr S Sen, and IQAC Coordinator College of Teacher Education (PGT) Shillong, Dr B Tron.
While Dr Sen, in her address, spoke on the significance of reading books, Dr Tron highlighted the advantages of reading books.
Dr Kharkongor, on the other hand, encouraged the student fraternity to read books.
