Cabinet nod to Office Memorandum for income & assets certificate

SHILLONG, May 6: The State Cabinet on Friday approved the Office Memorandum (OM) for the issuance of income and assets certificate for the economically weaker sections in Meghalaya.
Informing this, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the decision was taken for reservation of economically weaker sections to civil posts and services in central offices besides for admission to central government institutions.
“This is applicable to persons not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs,” Conrad took to Twitter and said.
Cabinet approves USD 89 mn project
The Cabinet also approved USD 98 million externally aided project  (EAP) to improve ecotourism infrastructure in Meghalaya.
The EAP, viz. Meghalaya Eco Tourism Infrastructure Development Project has been approved under New Development Bank and as mandated by the Centre.
According to the chief minister, Meghalaya’s ecotourism infrastructure, including road connectivity, will be developed under this project.
