Infant found abandoned near Nongstoin

Nongstoin, July 18: An infant girl was found abandoned by the roadside at Keinlangsaw near Jakrem Village on July 15 last, as informed by the office of the District Child Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit, West Khasi Hills District.

The baby is now under the supervision of the Child Welfare Committee and District Child Protection Unit, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin and is under the care and protection of the Specialised Adoption Agency, Tichsaw.

Any relative/ person having the information any sort regarding the parents/relatives of the infant has been asked contact the office of the District Child Protection Unit Ph.No.8258076014. Child Welfare Committee, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin Ph.No.8787475004 or contact the Specialised Adoption Agency Ph.No.6009768142/9862634887 and claim the child within 60 days failing which the infant will be declared ‘Legally Free for Adoption.’
