‘I Love You’ in police net for murder

Shillong, Aug 25: A 25-year-old man identified as ‘I Love You Talang’, wanted in kidnapping, murder and hijacking of vehicles has been arrested by Meghalaya police, police said on Thursday.
Talang and three of his accomplices -Ramesh Dkhar, Tellme Pyrtuh alias Bor and Sampher Ksoo – were arrested on charges of kidnapping and murder of two cab drivers in the West Jaintia Hills district recently.
The four murder accused were arrested on Wednesday after police first nabbed their ring leader Talang from Mawryngkneng village in East Khasi Hills district.
During the preliminary interrogation, Talang allegedly confessed that he along with his three other accomplices had kidnapped and murdered Damehipaia Papeng, a cab driver who went missing on August 10, by slitting his throat. Talang led the police to the place where he had dumped the dead body of Papeng near a cattle market in Mukoi Mihmyntdu, near the Jowai Bypass on the NH-06, the police official said.
Police also suspected that Talang and his gang was also involved in the kidnapping and murder of another cab driver Fullmoon Kharsahnoh.
The body of Kharsahnoh was found dead in suspicious circumstances in Mynkre, East Jai?tia Hills, last week.
Meanwhile, the court has remanded the four accused to 14 days’ police custody. (UNI)
