Farmers educated on organic farming

SHILLONG, Sep 22: The AROH Foundation recently organised an exposure visit to organic farm at Lawsohtun, and held interactions with the farming fraternity there.
Sponsored by the HDFC Bank Ltd, the visit aimed at disseminating information about organic farming.
A statement in this regard informed that the farmers were provided ideas on how to grow multiple vegetables of different varieties by making use of organic methods.
“They were also guided by the instructor and the resource person on how to prepare their own organic manures which is free from any harmful chemicals,” the statement said.
The farmers were also informed about the benefits of adopting organic farming.
