SHILLONG, Sep 24: Member of Rajya Sabha and National People’s Party (NPP) state president WR Kharlukhi on Saturday said that over six sitting MLAs from various political parties will join the party before the 2023 Assembly polls.
“Looking at indications and people joining NPP, not less than six MLAs from different parties will be joining the NPP before the elections,” he said.
Referring to Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma’s statement that many MLAs from the ruling party will jump ship ahead of the Assembly elections, Kharlukhi exuded confidence that NPP MLAs will not leave the party.
“I am certain that our MLAs will stick to our party. We have so many joining us and till date there is no one that will leave,” he said.
