SHILLONG, Nov 29: The beleaguered Meghalaya Congress suffered yet another jolt on Tuesday when former Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Abu Taher Mondal tendered his resignation from the party.
The former Phulbari MLA submitted his resignation to MPCC president Vincent H Pala stating that he was resigning from the primary and active membership of the party and other post held by him with immediate effect.
Mondal did not disclose which party he was joining but there are indications that the NPP would field him from the Phulbari seat.
