Shillong, Jan 2: Meghalaya’s match in the U-25 Col CK Nayudu Trophy against Haryana is finely balanced after 20 wickets fell on the second day in Mangaldai Assam, on Monday.
Resuming their first innings on 6/0, Haryana were blown away by pace bowler Ram Gurung, who delivered an inspirational bowling performance and figures of 5/37 as Haryana were all out for just 126, some 98 runs behind Meghalaya’s first innings total. Manish Sharma also took 3/14, while Riboklang Hynniewta (1/7) and PM Santhosh (1/43) claimed one wicket each.
Meghalaya, though, had their own batting difficulties in the second innings, as they were all out for 90. It would have been a lot worse if it were not for Kevin Christopher, who batted resolutely for 43.
At stumps, Haryana were 18/0 in their second innings, needing a further 171 to win. On Sunday, Meghalaya made 224 all out, with Kevin (53) leading the way with a half-century.
