Four detained in RB for peddling drugs

NONGPOH, Feb 1: Four persons were detained by police in Ri-Bhoi during a naka checking at Umran Dairy under Umsning PS on Wednesday morning over suspicion of narcotics being transported into the state.
Acting on a tip-off that a vehicle en route to Shillong from Guwahati was suspected to be trafficking drugs into the state in the wee hours, the police apprehended the vehicle (ML 05 E 0804) and recovered seven soap boxes and four vials containing 65.71 grams of heroin besides four mobile phones, three syringes and Rs 34,370 in cash from their possession.
The four persons who were detained are Klevin Marbaniang of Mawlai, Frederick Ryntathiang of Pynthor, Bankit Marbaniang of Lumshyiap Golf Links, and Shanbor Rani of Nongmensong.
