Woman arrested for killing, chopping off mother’s body in Mumbai

Shillong, March 16: Daughter of a woman, whose decomposed body was found in Lalbaug area of Mumbai, has been arrested for allegedly committing the crime.

The police have said that Rimple Jain, 23, chopped off the body of her mother Veena Jain and kept the pieces of the body at different places inside the house. The body was found after a missing complaint was lodged by the relatives of the woman.

As per the information, while the hands and legs of the victim were kept inside a water tank, her head and torso was kept inside a cupboard.

Panic had gripped the area after the body of the victim was found inside plastic bags.

Police received a missing complaint from the relatives of the deceased at Kalachowki police station. Police reached her home to gather evidence but found that the body was present inside her own home in a closet. The body was decomposing as it was kept for days.
