BJP observes Bihar Diwas

SHILLONG, April 23: Bihar Diwas was observed on Sunday under the banner ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ by the BJP unit of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ at BJP State Office here in the presence of State BJP president Ernest Mawrie, office-bearers, state executive members and other karyakartas along with the Bihari community in the spirit of brotherhood and unity.
Mawrie highlighted the achievements of the Bihari community and spoke about their contribution in nation-building.
A total of four achievers of the community along with huge number of the community were felicitated on the occasion. Poetry recitation and speech on the tradition and culture of Bihar by participants were the other highlight of the programme.
‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ is a Government of India initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas which is the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The programme aims to enhance and strengthen the bond and understanding between citizens.
