Drugs seized
East Khasi Hills (EKH) Police on Friday nabbed one drug trafficker and seized heroin worth Rs 64 lakh and a bike in this connection. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, while lauding the Police department, said that drug abuse threatens the civility of life and, at the same time, assured that the government is committed to save the youths.

Awareness
The Gender Cell of the College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, Umiam, conducted a one-day programme on ‘Gender Sensitization and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace) Awareness Programme’ for the faculty members, staff and students of the college on Saturday. According to a statement here, the programme was attended by Lawyer and Former Member of Meghalaya State Commission for Women, Rebina Subba, and Gender Consultant and Founder of KONG (Keep our Nature’s Gift), Balarisha Lyngdoh, as the resource persons.

Competition
Seng Khasi College, as part of its golden jubilee celebration, organised an inter-college quiz competition on Saturday. According to a statement in this regard, a total of 11 colleges took part in the competition, viz. St. Anthony’s College, St. Edmund’s College, St. Dominic’s College, Nabon Women’s Synod College, Lady Keane College, Raid Laban College, Sankardev College, Ri War College, Women’s College, Mawlai Presbyterian College and Seng Khasi College. St. Dominic’s College was declared the winner of the competition, which was followed by St. Edmund’s College and Mawlai Presbyterian College at second and third places respectively.
