50 pc seats at NLU M’laya for state domiciles: VC

SHILLONG, May 10: Vice Chancellor of National Law University, Meghalaya, Prof. Indrajit Dube, has informed that 50 per cent of the seats in the university has been reserved for the domicile residents of Meghalaya.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Prof. Dube informed that the receipt of students’ online applications, which had started on April 21, will continue till May 21.
According to the VC, the university will subsequently conduct an admission test on May 28, the results of which will be published on June 9.
The academic session of the NLU, he said, will begin from July 10.
Prof. Dube also informed that for undergraduate courses, a total of 60 students will be enrolled, with 20 each in BA LLB, BS LLB and BBA LLB Honours.
He also informed that 10 students will be enrolled for the postgraduate programme.
Mentioning that the annual fee structure for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at NLU Meghalaya is much lower than that of private colleges and universities and other national universities, the VC urged the students and aspiring lawyers of the state to take advantage of the opportunity and get themselves enrolled.
Others who were part of the press conference include Commissioner and Secretary of Education department Pravin Bakshi and Registrar of High Court of Meghalaya E Kharumnuid.
