Shillong, June 23: In a successful joint operation conducted by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, four terrorists attempting to infiltrate from Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) were neutralized in Kupwara on Friday. This marks the second significant infiltration bid thwarted by the security forces within a week.

The encounter took place near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machhal sector of Kupwara, as the terrorists were making their way into the Indian side from POK, as confirmed by the Kashmir Zone Police.

As the terrorists were spotted attempting to infiltrate, a fierce gunfight ensued between them and the security forces.

This recent operation follows another successful encounter on June 16, where five Pakistani terrorists were eliminated in a gunfight with security forces in the Jumagund area of Kupwara district.
