Lt General Rajiv Ghai assumed command of the strategically significant Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Army on June 14. His responsibilities include overseeing the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan and leading counter-terrorism operations in Kashmir.
Expressing shock over the alleged incident, Mufti took to Twitter and wrote, “Shocked to hear about army troops from 50 RR storming into a mosque at Pulwama & forcing Muslims inside to chant ‘Jai Shree Ram’. Such a move when Amit Shah is here and that too ahead of yatra is simply an act of provocation. Request Rajiv Ghai to immediately set up a probe.”
This is not the first time Mufti has made such claims. In April, she asserted that local men had been arrested and subjected to torture in the lead-up to the G20 event in Jammu and Kashmir.
