Nongpoh, July 14: Heavy rainfall this morning triggered a flash flood at National Highway 6 at Jorabat, creating a chaotic situation for commuters traveling between Shillong and Guwahati. Light vehicles were seen partially submerged under the rising water, resulting in massive traffic congestion.

The torrential downpour led to the overflowing of drainage, inundating the highway with an unexpected surge of water. As a result, few light vehicles found themselves trapped in the floodwaters, unable to move forward or backward.

Travelers heading from Shillong to Guwahati, as well as those traveling in the opposite direction, have experienced substantial delays and prolonged travel times due to the congested road conditions. Commuters are urged to exercise patience and caution while navigating through the affected stretch of the highway.
