From Our Correspondent JOWAI, Sep 21: The Jaintia National Council (JNC) on Thursday visited Byndihati and Umtyra in East Jaintia Hills to inspect two projects which have been non-functional — a residential school and teacher’s training centre. The residential school, the JNC said, was sanctioned in 2015 and was completed in 24 months. The teachers’ training centre, on the other hand, was sanctioned and finished in 2016 but it remains defunct till date. The JNC has sent video clips of the two projects to the government. The leaders of the organisation had also apprised the state government about the matter, seeking its intervention in the matter. However, the JNC said that the government has failed to act so far. The organisation expressed hope that the government will look into the issues.
