SHILLONG, Jan 29: The NPP will highlight the achievement report of the NPP-led MDA Government in the past six years during its election campaign for the Shillong and Tura parliamentary seats.
Talking to reporters after the meeting of the NPP East Khasi Hills District Executive Committee here on Monday, NPP’s East Khasi Hills district president, Gavin Miguel Mylliem said that the party is preparing its achievement report since it took over the helms of affairs in 2018.
He said that the district committee is gearing up to campaign for the party candidate from Shillong, Ampareen Lyngdoh.
He said that the focus of the campaign will be to highlight the achievements of the NPP-led MDA.
He party will organise the campaign in 10 blocks falling under the district to garner support to the party candidate.
“We are confident that the people would realise the work done by this government once they see the achievement report,” the NPP East Khasi Hills district president said.
Meanwhile, he noted that there are several “baseless” allegations against the party by its political opponents. “We will go to the people to counter and clarify these allegations,” Mylliem said.
Further, he said that they are trying to strengthen the organisation of the party from the block level up to the primary unit. “We know that the Assembly polls are still far away. But we realise that it is important to strengthen the organisation for the growth of the party in the Khasi Hills region,” Mylliem said.
It may be mentioned that the NPP state president, Prestone Tynsong had formally inducted the newly appointed members of the NPP East Khasi Hills District Executive Committee on the occasion.
