James Anderson comes in for 2nd Test

Visakhapatnam, Feb 1: England on Thursday announced their playing XI for the second Test of the five-match series against India with veteran pacer James Anderson making a return to the team in place of Mark Wood.
The 41-year-old pacer last featured against Australia at The Oval in July 2023. The visitors are 1-0 up in the series after a 28-run win in Hyderabad and will face hosts on Friday at the Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in the second match of the series.
With over 650 wickets, Anderson has surpassed the legendary Glenn McGrath to become the leading wicket-taker among fast bowlers in Test cricket
Anderson has taken more Test wickets for England than any other player, surpassing Ian Botham’s record. With over 180 Tests played, Anderson is the most capped player in England’s Test history.
With 269 wickets, Anderson is also England’s leading wicket-taker in One Day Internationals. Anderson is known for his exceptional swing bowling, accuracy, and ability to bowl long spells. (Agencies)
