The Meghalaya State Judicial Academy and WWF-India will kick off a two-day orientation programme on ‘Forest and Wildlife Conservation Laws for the Judiciary in Meghalaya’ at the High Court of Meghalaya. The target groups for the programme are the judicial officers under High Court of Meghalaya and officers from the Department of Forests and Environment.

The National Law University, Meghalaya, will begin the two-day inaugural conference of the School of Sustainability and Law, in the university premises. Titled ‘Tribal Environmental Governance and Rights of Nature in the context of the Climate Crisis’, the conference seeks to delve into several key dimensions vital for understanding and addressing the climate crisis through the lens of tribal environmental governance and the rights of nature philosophy.
