WJH programme enlightens people on labour laws

JOWAI, May 2: To commemorate International Labour Day, the District Legal Services Authority, West Jaintia Hills, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority organised a legal awareness programme at Mynsngat village in the district.
According to a statement here, the programme was attended by around 50 people, who were informed about various labour laws.
While Legal Aid Counsel C. Nartiang delivered a speech on the topic ‘Labour Laws’, Labour Inspector B. Sohkhlet spoke on the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
Similarly, Labour Inspector C. Laloo spoke on the topic ‘schemes available under the Labour department’.
