Tura meeting talks monsoon preparedness

TURA, May 17: Block Development Officers and heads of line departments from West Garo Hills on Friday conglomerated for a meeting to confer about the preparatory measures for the monsoon season.
Chaired by Project Director, DRDA, West Garo Hills, Dolrich BG Momin, the district coordination committee meeting covered various topics to tackle as well as abate the extreme effects of monsoon.
Some of the issues discussed during the meeting were the conduct of coordination meetings at subdivisions and blocks, identification of nodal officers of every department, communication channel, the inclusion of key persons at the district, subdivisional, block and municipal WhatsApp Groups, manpower availability of home guards, SDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, for rescue as well as for MePDCL, Medical department, Police department, Aapda Mitra volunteers, PWD, PHE, Water Resources, Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, filing of FIR within 24 hours in case of damages, availability of ambulances, stocking of medicines by concerned department as well as food grains, edible oil, etc, identification of relief camps as well as of old and vulnerable trees on the roadside by Forest department, etc.
