JH youths & farmers get trained on oyster, mushroom cultivation

JOWAI, June 29: As many as 50 youths and farmers from the Jaintia Hills region attended a training programme on ‘Oyster & Button Mushroom Cultivation’.
Organised by the Constituent College of NEHU-Deen Dayal Upadhyay Community College for Skill Development, Wahiajer, Jowai, the five-day programme, which culminated on Friday, included both theoretical and practical demonstrations of oyster and mushroom cultivation.
During the programme, NEHU Vice Chancellor Prof. PS Shukla commended Prof. SM Sungoh, principal in-charge of DDUCC, for her efforts to equip rural men and women with essential knowledge and skills.
He pledged to offer more high-quality skill training opportunities using modern technology and to create a supportive ecosystem for trained individuals to secure a better future.
