Shillong set to host Boney M’s farewell concert

SHILLONG, July 29: Legendary disco group Boney M., known for their iconic hits in R&B, reggae, disco, and funk, and integral to the Christmas festivities in music-loving Meghalaya, have chosen Shillong for their farewell concert.
Boney M. will perform at the Cherry Blossom Festival on November 15-16. This event promises to be an extraordinary “Year of the Legends” as Shillong, known for its rich musical heritage, will witness a historic performance.
Boney M. has captivated the world for years with timeless classics such as Daddy Cool, Ma Baker, Belfast, Sunny, Rasputin, Mary’s Boy Child/Oh My Lord, and Rivers of Babylon. Their performance in Shillong marks their first and last live show in the city, making it an exclusive and momentous occasion for music lovers in Meghalaya.
Sources confirm that the deal is finalised, and Boney M. will indeed be performing at the festival.
Blind tickets for the festival were released even before the artist lineup was announced, fueling speculation about the participation of other top international artists who will be performing live for the first time in India.
