JOWAI, Sep 3: The leaders of Madanrwai village, which falls under Elaka Raliang of Laskein Block, West Jaintia Hills, have expressed concern over the plight of villagers in regard with transportation due to the bad condition of roads within the village.
According to a statement issued by the village authority including the Headman, Ciworning Sayoo, and village secretary Rithmu Dhar, prior to elections, the public representative had promised to repair the road. After elections, none arrived to their village.
The leaders lamented that transporting sick persons becomes a daunting task due to the deplorable condition of the roads. They have urged the government, especially the local MLA, to initiate the repair work at the earliest.
