Shillong, Sep 27: The Meghalaya Cricket Association’s senior women selection committee had picked a 15-member squad for the BCCI’s Senior Women T20 Trophy next month.
The same team will also represent Meghalaya in the 1st Senior Women’s Interstate Friendship T20 Tournament of the North East Cricket Development Council (NECDC), which will be hosted by the MCA at Pahamsning Cricket Ground, Nongkrah, Ri-Bhoi, from September 30 to October 4.
The NECDC tournament – featuring Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim – aims to provide match preparation before the commencement of the BCCI Senior Women’s T20 Trophy. Following the NECDC tournament, the players will return to Shillong and continue with a preparatory camp before departing for the BCCI tournament on October 14. In the BCCI competition Meghalaya have been drawn with Assam, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. Meghalaya’s matches will be played in Kerala from October 17 to 28.
