NEW DELHI, Sep 27: All the three MPs from Meghalaya were nominated to different standing committees of the Parliament which function when the House is not in session.
In a communiqué issued by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat on Thursday night, NPP’s Rajya Sabha member, Wanwei Roy Kharlukhi was nominated to the Committees on Science and Technology, Environment, Forests and Climate Change.
VPP’s Shillong Lok Sabha MP, Ricky AJ Syngkon was named in the Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers while Congress MP from Tura, Saleng A Sangma will be in the Committees on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice.
The department-related Standing Committees, which have representation from across party lines, keep a tab on the functioning of various Union ministries.
