Centre must resolve NEHU issues in interests of students: Rakkam Sangma

Shillong, Dec 2: Amid all the turmoil in North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Education Minister, Rakkam Sangma has said the Central Government must resolve the issues dogging the atmosphere in the varsity in the interest of the students.

The students of the University are on a war path with the Vice Chancellor demanding his removal along with other alleged illegal appointees

Reiterating that the Government of Meghalaya has limited role in the functioning of the Central University, he said that Ministry is fully aware of the situation in the University.

He said that the Centre at the earliest must decided on what is in the best interest of the students even as he added that the voice of the agitating students must be heard no matter whether their demands are genuine or not
