Shillong, Feb 7: The 4th East Khasi Hills District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2024 continued with thrilling action on Day 6, featuring two exciting matches.
In Match 11, Lumpaia Avengers faced Mawphlang CC. After winning the toss, Mawphlang chose to bowl first. Lumpaia Avengers posted a solid total of 147/7 in their 20 overs, with Aldy Mebandondor Nongbri leading the charge with 32 runs off 27 balls. For Mawphlang, Mawlynnai Wahlang impressed with the ball, claiming 2 wickets for 26 runs in his 4 overs.In response, Mawphlang CC struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for 114 in 19.2 overs. Wandondor Jyrwa was the top scorer with 40 runs off 47 balls, but it wasn’t enough to chase down the target. Daryll Donald Nongbri starred with the ball for Lumpaia Avengers, taking 3 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs. His performance earned him the Player-of-the-Match as Lumpaia Avengers secured a 29-run victory.
In Match 12, Laitjem CC dominated Mawmluh CC. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Laitjem posted a formidable 204/5 in their allotted overs. Merken B Kharkongor was in sensational form, smashing 52 runs off just 24 balls. Mawmluh CC’s Aiban Tyngshain Rajee took 2 wickets for 33 runs in 3 overs.
Mawmluh CC’s batting lineup collapsed under pressure, managing only 78 runs in 14.5 overs. Pynsuklang Rajee top-scored with 23 off 22 balls, but Arky Kharbhih’s brilliant spell of 4 wickets for just 9 runs in 3 overs dismantled their chase. Laitjem CC cruised to a 126-run win, with Merken B Kharkongor named Player-of-the-Match.
The matches on Saturday will see Laitkynsew CC take on Rangshken ACC at 9:00 AM, followed by Marbisu CC facing Mawryngkneng at 12:00 noon.
