Shillong, Feb 20: NorthEast United FC will look to consolidate their playoff spot in the Indian Super League (ISL 2024-25) when they host Bengaluru FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday.
The Highlanders are coming off an impressive 2-0 away victory against Jamshedpur FC, while Bengaluru FC also secured a 3-0 home win against the same opponent in their previous match. NorthEast United FC currently sit fourth in the standings with 32 points from 21 games, one point and two places above Bengaluru FC, making this a blockbuster clash.Moroccan forward Alaaeddine Ajaraie has been in sensational form for NorthEast United FC, rewriting the ISL record books in their last outing. His brace against Jamshedpur FC saw him become the player with the most goals (20) and most goal contributions (25). His first goal broke the previous record of 18 goals by Ferran Corominas and Bartholomew Ogbeche, while his second further extended his lead.
