Tura, March 6: Unhappy with his complaints over the violation of the job reservation not being answered by authorities to whom he has written, social activist Cherian Momin has now sought the attention of the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma while seeking an independent probe into the issue he has raised.
In a memo submitted on Thursday, Momin stated that an independent inquiry into the matter was necessary as no one has answered the questions he has raised, which include the Meghalaya Governor, the MPSC, chief secretary among others.
Earlier, Momin had questioned the tribal status of one successful MCS candidate under the Garo quota, Esther Ngurlienmoi Marak, contending she was not from the tribe at all and as such ineligible under the same.
In his memo, the activisit has sought an immediate inquiry by an independent body while also asking for the suspension of the appointment of Esther.
He also urged the CM to ensure the strict enforcement of the Meghalaya Job Reservation policy as well as reforms within the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to prevent a repeat of such incidents in the future.
