High-scoring action marks day at 4th Division U-20 Football

Shillong, June 19:The 4th Division Under-20 Football League 2025 witnessed a thrilling day of action at the SSA Football Stadium on Wednesday, with a flurry of goals and standout performances lighting up the pitch across three exciting fixtures.
In the day’s opener, Mawlynrei SC delivered a dominant performance, defeating Lawei SC 5–2. Despite a brace from Shemphang Synnah (15’, 76’) for Lawei, it wasn’t enough to stop Mawlynrei’s attacking onslaught. Kerry J Marboh opened the scoring as early as the 7th minute, followed by goals from Wanborrupa Rynjah (27’), Elvinson Kharsohnoh (58’) and Ferdinand Pyngrope (73’). An own goal by Lawei SC in the 34th minute further widened the gap.
The second match of the day saw a more measured contest as Lumpyngngad SC edged past Riatsamthiah SC with a narrow 1–0 victory, thanks to a 20th-minute strike by Ebenezer D Kharhari.
The final match was a goal fest, as Mawnianglah SC cruised to a commanding 6–1 win over Krang SC. Mawnianglah’s attacking trio of Ericson Kharkongor (3’, 19’), Melvinson Marbaniang (40’, 56’), and Stevenson Nongneng (65’, 76’) tore through Krang’s defence. Jerkupar Dohtdong scored the lone goal for Krang SC just before halftime (44’).
The fixtures for Friday, at the SSA Football Stadium in Shillong are as follows: Mawlyngngad SC will face Nongkolew SC at 10:30 AM, Golflink SC will take on Laitkroh SC at 1:30 PM, and Risa Colony SC will clash with Thynroit SC at 4:15 PM.The 4th Division U-20 League continues to provide a vibrant platform for young footballers in Meghalaya, promising more excitement in the coming days.
With the competition heating up, all eyes will be on these young teams as they battle for supremacy.
