Diamond Jubilee

The director of the Anthropological Survey of India, Kolkata and staff members of the North-East Regional Centre will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee on December 11 at 11:30am, in Hotel Polo Towers. Governor RS Mooshahary will be the chief guest.

Festival postponed

The Seng Samla Mawlai Mawroh has informed that the proposed 2nd Tandoori Festival which was scheduled to be held on December 8 has been shifted until further notice due to on-going food festival being organised by the Mawroh Presbyterian Church.

Training programme held

A three day training of trainers on anti-human trafficking organised by the CID, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs concluded on Friday.

Additional Director General of Police YC Modi, who addressed the gathering sayig that human trafficking poses serious threats to the society and stressed on the need to collectively fight the menace. Police officials and NGO members were present in the meeting.

Interactive programme

The Office of the Assistant Director, Information and Public Relations, West Jaintia Hills, along with the Jaintia Hills Development Society organised a two day long special interactive programme on December 4 and 5, under the theme “Sustainable Development and Povery Eradication.”

New STP routes

The Shillong Traffic Police has declared the stretch from Bevar Road (Chief Secretary Residence ) toward P&T quarter Oakland road as a no entry.

Similarly, the stretch from Bevar Road (Wards Lake and Botanical Garden) pint junction towards P&T quarter up to Polo towers is declared as No Parking Zone.

The stretch from BSNL Guest House junction towards Bevar Road is declared as one way.

Inauguration

PWD minister HDR Lyngdoh will inaugurate the post office at Sohiong on December 8 at 11 am, while a motorable road will be inaugurated at Mawsiang on December 12 at 12 noon

Cleaning drive

The Dorbar Shnong Demthring will organise a cleaning drive on December 12 from 7 am and the vehicle movement in the locality has been restricted till 12 noon.

Workshop

The Centre for Cultural Resource and Training (CCRT), New Delhi will organise a three day district level teacher training workshop on ” Cultural Inputs and in curriculum Teaching on December 10, at Laban Bengalee Boys Higher Secondary School, Shillong.
