SHILLONG, Nov 18: Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla has stated that he is waiting for a comprehensive report on the 108 Emergency Service in Meghalaya before making any decisions about its operations.
He emphasised the importance of receiving a detailed briefing from concerned officers to understand the system and its challenges.
Shylla reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the service effectively aids the state’s population.
When asked about the potential privatisation of the service, he indicated that it was premature to comment until he has more information.
The minister noted that the department is actively seeking ways to enhance the management and efficiency of the emergency services, and that they await additional suggestions, as officials have requested more time to prepare the necessary briefing.
