SHILLONG: Three persons were killed while five others were seriously injured when a sumo they were travelling in from Tura to Williamnagar skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Samanda in East Garo Hills district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Sengrik R Marak, Lenchi Tariang and Raul Boro. It is believed that the vehicle skidded off the road due to rain.
The injured have been admitted at Williamnagar hospital for treatment.
