NONGPOH: Alarmed with the recent landslide incident in 19 Mile, the Ri Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF) 20 Mer Circle on Thursday urged upon the Ri Bhoi district administration to identify areas where landslides can possibly occur and take up suitable measures as to avoid any mishap.

Talking to this scribe, RBYF 20 Mer Circle President Liander Nongshli said that they have come across many sites where possible landslide can occur, thus preventive measures needs to be taken as to obviate loss of life and properties and traffic snarls.

Peeved on the bad road condition from Nongpoh to 20 Mer Circle, Nongshli urged the M/s Ramky Company to immediately repair the road as to prevent any unfortunate occurrences as the road is full of potholes thus could lead to accidents and traffic jams.

The RBYF 20 Mile President urged the Ramky Company to construct drain and laid down Hume Pipe below the Umling Bridge as due to the blocking of the river the water has flooded to the nearby houses.
