SHILLONG: The Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya sector which guards the 443-kilometer Indo-Bangla border along Meghalaya has apprehended as many as 44 Bangladeshi immigrants this year.
The BSF also apprehended 10 Bangladeshi smugglers and five Indian smugglers and seized fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 70,000 besides apprehending two Bangladeshi racketeers.
The BSF also apprehended nine GNLA militants and seven linkmen this year.
BSF sleuths seized 78.45 kg of Ganja, 5855 bottles of Phensedyl, cattle numbering to 130 and contraband items worth Rs 67 lakh.
