NONGSTOIN: A VDP rally of Mairang Circle was organized by West Khasi Hills Police at Pyndengumiong Club Hall, Mairang, on Saturday last.
The function was attended, among others, by A Sunn, DIG (E/R), S Nongtnger, SP, West Khasi Hills, SW Malai, SDPO Mairang, MHS Nonghuloo, Circle Inspector Mairang, other Police officials and around 350 VDP members of Mairang Circle including Sordar and secretaries within Mairang Civil Sub-Division.
Discussions on need for VDP in villagers, issues concerning maintenance of peace and tranquility in the respective villages and the knowledge of laws like IPC, CrPC were held.
