Kohima: Reacting to reports of tension along Nagaland- Assam following the alleged abduction and subsequent release of four persons, Border Peace Coordination Committee (BPCC), Assam-Nagaland (A-N) has appealed those engaged in ‘unwarranted activities’ maintain restrain.
In a statement issued by BPCC (A-N) president B.P. Bora and vice president Imsu Jamir said the Committee was pained by the sequence of events at the private tea garden from Ronkham village of Selenghat in Assam, bordering Nagaland though tension has now subsided.
While extending, Christmas and New Year’s greetings, BPCC (A-N) appealed all to take a pledge this festive season for peace coordination and development of all. ‘Let those festivities bringing essence of brotherhood to each other for a desired welfare of ours which is the call of the day,’ along Assam- Nagaland border between Mokokchung (Nagaland) and Jorhat (Assam) districts resurfaced after the reported abduction of four persons employed in a private tea plantation Selenghat area.
