NEHUTA approves new office bearers

SHILLONG: The NEHUTA in its general body meeting held on Monday unanimously passed a resolution approving the election of new office-bearers for 2013-14 to the Executive Committee of the Association.

The GBM was of the clear view that neither irregularities nor anomalies have been committed in the conduct of the NEHUTA election, as alleged by a member in the press.

In its general body meeting, it also bade farewell to two of ) NEHU’s renowned Professors, Prof. PN Pandita and Prof. Surendra Singh.

The meeting also bade farewell to four other Professors in absentia.

The General Body in its resolution affirmed that it appreciates and endorses the role of Election Committee in completing the process of election in the right time.

It also handed over charge to the newly elected body from the old body.

The newly elected office bearers are Prof. Xavier P. Mao, president; Prof. V. Ruata Rengsi, vice-president among others. Apart from these office bearers, six executive committee members have also been elected.

The new body has taken over charge and shall remain in office for next one year.
