Promising FC deliver, Nongkhyriem also win

ILLONG: Two high-scoring, yet one-sided, matches were played out on Thursday in the Meghalaya Open Football Championship, organised by the Bouncers Association of Meghalaya in collaboration with Meghalaya Aids Control Society, which were held at Malki Ground.

In the afternoon match, Promising FC (Malki) blew straight past Jaintia United FC 8-0.

Bryan Mynsong (23rd minute, 46th, 64th) and Kordor Marwein (34th, 38th, 53rd) both recorded hat-tricks, while Brolington Warlarpih (40th) and Gilbert E Diengdoh (48th) were the other goal-scorers.

The morning match saw six goals scored, all by Nongkhyriem FC (Nongthymmai) against Lapalang Sports & Cultural Club.

Johny Manbha opened the floodgates with a 35th minute goal, before Iarbok Ksiar (40th, 69th) and Readyton Nongbri (55th, 60th) scored a brace each. Maitphang Mukhim (67th) also got his name on the scoresheet.

On Friday, the 11:00am match will be between Sarong Laka Jong (Malki) and Three Pine (Laban).

Rizing FC (Golf Links) will then take on Bahlung FC of Lumparing at 1:30pm.
