Rangdajied announce Fed Cup squad

SHILLONG: Rangdajied United FC have announced their 20-member squad for the Federation Cup, which will begin on January 14 in Kerala.

The Blues are in Group B along with Bengaluru FC, Sporting Clube de Goa and defending champions East Bengal.

All of their group games will be played in Manjeri.

RUFC’s will first take on East Bengal on January 15.

RUFC squad: Surjay Kumar Pariyar, Shambhu Mistry, Ambilstar Sun, Thomas Saikhom, Gouramangi Singh, Lamine Tamba, Yohei Iwasaki, Dapbor Bareh, Poibiang Pohshna, Pratik Chaudhari, David KC Ngaihte, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, Tomba Singh, Elam Abocha Singh, Munmun Timothy Lugun, Ericson Lyngdoh, Edmar Figueira, Kim Song Yong, T Lalnunpuia, Manandeep Singh.

Meanwhile, the Shillong Lajong FC team, who will play in Group C, left for Kerala on Sunday.

The team kick off their campaign on January 15 against Salgaocar in Kochi.

Mohun Bagan and Mumbai FC are the other two teams in the group.

Nine members of the squad are U-23 players, seven of whom are from the Shillong Lajong Academy.

Brazilian striker Uilliams Souza Silva is not part of the team as he is suffering from an injury.
