Wonderers, Treilang reach football semis

SHILLONG: Wonderers FC and Treilang won their respective quarterfinal matches in the Meghalaya Open Football Championship on Tuesday at Malki Ground to reach the last-four.

In the first match, Wonderers’ Jeff Rani (41st minute) and Boy Rani (61st) helped their team to a 2-0 win over Umkdait Combine FC.

Later, Treilang beat Combine XI FC 3-1.

Promis Lating (29th), Augustine Warmalai (49th) and Batista Marboh (69th) scored for Treilang.

Vik Kharkongor scored the lone goal for Combine XI in the 65th minute.

The first semifinal will see Seng Samla Khliehshnong (Malki) take on Wonderers at 12 noon, while Promising FC play Treilang at 2:00pm.
