ASAK to accept willing donations

TURA: The A’chik Songna An’pachakgipa Kotok (ASAK) has assured those that have received its demand notes that it would accept whatever amount was offered as donations. However, the militant outfit has requested that they call up the contact number given in the letter to negotiate on the amount. Interestingly, the outfit excluded politicians including MLAs, MDCs and MPs from its target but warned that they would have to work with dedication for the cause of Garo Hills and its people or face the consequences.

“We will not accept money or any kind of aid from MLAs, MPs or MDCs. But they must work sincerely for the welfare of the Garo people otherwise we will take strong action against them,” the ASAK Commander-in-Chief, Reding T Sangma said.

Meanwhile, Reding has refuted the claim made by one Kakam Sangma that a person named Tokyo Marak is from the ASAK. He claimed that there was no one by the name of Tokyo in the outfit and added that the outfit does not recruit any Tom, Dick or Harry but only those who were dedicated enough to serve the cause of Garo Hills and its people.
