Theft

On April 11 around 5:30 am, three unidentified miscreants waylaid one Chevrolet car (MN-02A-8201) at Laitlyngkot (EKH) and robbed cash Rs. 2,000 and two cell phones from the occupants of the vehicle Lalding Gangte (20), Genzalam Gangte (19), Pauminlum Gangte (19), Christina Joute (19) and Kimneinoim Joute (18). The miscreants also took away the vehicle, which was later recovered from Laitkor, Shillong.

Body recovered

On April 11 around 7:50 am, one unidentified male body (45/46 yrs) was recovered inside a bus at Shillong Sadar PS Complex near Police Hospital, Shillong. Cause of death is suspected to be due to illness. Necessary formalities were observed and matter is under enquiry.

On April 10 at about 3 pm, the body of Michael Syngai Nongsiej (habitual drunkard) was recovered from the bank of Umkaliar stream at Umpling, Shillong. Necessary formalities were observed and matter is under enquiry.

On April 8, the body of Morjina Bibi, who was reportedly missing since April 5 was recovered near her residence at Old Bhaitbari village (WGH). Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was sent to CH Tura for PM. Investigation is on.

Threat case

On April 10 at about 5:30 pm, one Arwan Paslein created nuisance and also threatened the residents of Khimusniang, Jowai (WJH) with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused person.

Wansuk Phawa lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that her husband Md. Altab Hussain Borbhuiya threatened her with dire consequences in her residence at Tuber Kmaishnong (EJH).
