TURA: The Citizens for Social Democracy (CSD), Dalu has informed that the Executive Engineer of the MeECL, Tura Distribution Division was yet to take any kind of action against the SDO of Dalu MePDCL, Distribution Sub Division who has been absconding from duty for almost 8 months now although a complaint in this regard was already submitted to the concerned authority.
The CSD had earlier on May 30 submitted a complaint letter to the MeECL authority in Tura urging him to take necessary action against the erring official.
“It has been two weeks since we made the complaint to the Executive Engineer in which we were assured that action would be taken as early as possible to solve the problem being faced by the people of the region.
“But till date not a single action has been initiated to resolve the problems,” Thangkan Marak, the General Secretary of the CSD said.
Marak also alleged that due to the non attendance of the concerned official in office the region still had to bear the brunt of power cuts as the office staff were also not willing to take the responsibility to carry out repair works on power lines which was causing a great deal of inconvenience to the people.
“Half Yearly Examinations of all the schools have already commenced from 9th June and the students have been facing difficulties every night. The FIFA World Cup has also started from June 12.
“If the current problem persists there could be a hue and cry from the general public which night to ugly incidences as it has happened in the past,” the NGO leader cautioned.
The CSD on behalf of the citizens of the region has once again urged the concerned authority to resolve the power problem at the earliest failing which it warned that it would take to the streets to ensure that its ‘genuine’ demands are heard.
