Office shifted

The registered office of the Global Indian Social Welfare Forum has now been shifted to Bishnupur, Shillong, with immediate effect.

Midnight Swim

The Forever Young Club will organize the 18th Midnight Swim on December 31 at the Crinoline Swimming Pool to welcome the New Year. 70 blocks of ice each weighing 50 kg will be released into the pool for the occasion.

Classes

Chinmaya Mission, Shillong would conduct Swadhaya (self study) classes on Vedanta texts every Wednesday at Rani Sati Mandir, AC Lane, Police Bazar.

Pre-Christmas

St John’s Church, Laban, organized a pre-Christmas get together at the Parish Hall on December 20 with representatives of different religious faiths such as CPC, Meghalaya, Seng Bhalang Islam and Unitarian Church. The interactive chair discussed various social issues like alcohol, drug abuse, rising school drop outs and broken homes.

Condolence

Members of Meghalaya Judo Association, Meghalaya Wushu Association and Meghalaya Association of Kickboxing Organization have conveyed their deepest condolences to the family members of Mesila Sun, mother of SK Sun, who breathed her last recently.
The Gorkha Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association, Jhalupara, has expressed shock over the killing of school children by terrorists at Peshawar in Pakistan on December 16. The Association members and staff of the Shillong Cantonment Board Vocational Training Centre also observed two minute silence for the departed souls.
