Pension scheme
The Indira Gandhi National Disabled Pension Scheme under East Khasi Hills District has been released at Rs.300 per month to the BPL beneficiaries who have attained the age of 18 to 59 years with effect from May 2013 to July 2013 and is being credited to the accounts of the beneficiaries in their respective banks/ post office. Any case of non-transfer may be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills.
Inspection
Former Deputy Director General, Doordarshan and NRC Consultant (Documentation) Information Education Communication & Capacity Building, Swachh Bharat Mission, TK Das, on Monday conducted a spot inspection on sanitation at Mawphaniew village of Mairang Block in West Khasi Hills District, which had been awarded the Nirmal Gram Puruskar by the Central government last year through the District Water & Sanitation Mission.
Youth exchange
The Director of Sports & Youth Affairs, Meghalaya has informed that a State contingent consisting of 22 youths along with five officials participated in the International Youth Exchange Programme held at Singapore from January 20-29.
Mid Day Meal
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Garo Hills, has informed that rice under Mid Day Meal scheme for the months of October-December, 2014 has been released through FPS dealers/ school secretaries for the purpose of delivery to the doorsteps of respective LP Schools at 100 gm for 40 days for each student and UP Schools at 150 gm for 47 days for each student within Tura Sardar areas.
Silver jubilee
The closing ceremony of the Silver Jubilee celebration of the FKJGP will be held on February 13 from 11 am at the U Soso Tham Auditorium.
Office bearers
The KSU has renewed officer bearers of Nartiang Circle and Nartiang Moodop Unit for 2015-18 with H Muskut as vice president, Rangdajied Diengdoh as general secretary, besides others for the Nartiang Circle. For Nartiang Moodop unit Banroiki Dkhar was elected president, Sandiroi Shylla as vice president and Shanti Dkhar as general secretary, besides others.
Missing person
One Kloilansing Pdahkasiej (20), of Mawsynram, has been missing from Anjali Sumo Stand since January 18. He was wearing grey jacket, dark green T-shirt, light green trousers and black slippers. Anyone having knowledge of the person can contact police.
