PKL: Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Bengaluru Bulls 30-21
Jaipur: A super raid by Jasvir Singh, coming out of an injury tilted the match in favour of Jaipur Pink Panthers as they beat Bengaluru Bulls 30-21 for their fourth win in nine matches in a Star Sports Pro Kabaddi league encounter, here on Saturday. Though Jasvir Singh came off with that magical moment in the 34th minute to settle the argument it was the untiring efforts of all-rounder Rajesh Narwal that laid the foundations of this important win. It keeps the hosts in the hunt for a play-off berth with a tally of 25 points. Bengaluru Bulls for whom this was the eighth defeat lie in seventh place with 13 points and their chances have totally receded.
Jose Mourinho claims interest
from top clubs
London: Veteran football manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that he is not looking for a new job at the moment, although several clubs are pursuing him. The 53-year-old ended his second spell at English Premier League (EPL) side Chelsea in December following a poor start to this season’s campaign. He has since been heavily linked with a return to the EPL with Manchester United, who are currently managed by Louis van Gaal. “My next club? I really do not know, but one thing is certain – I love football and I will return with the same passion and ambition I’ve always had,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by Italian newspaper La Stampa. Mascherano hints at EPL return
Barcelona: Spanish football giants Barcelona defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano said he could make a return to the English Premier League in the near future if any club shows interest in him. Mascherano, who joined Barcelona from Liverpool in 2010, said he doesn’t think that Pep Guardiola — his former coach at Barcelona — will call him to Manchester City next season. “No, no, Pep is not going to call me. He will not call me, no, no, no. My feeling for Liverpool does not mean I’m tied to them. If in the future a Premier League team was interested in me and I had the chance to go back, you can’t say: ‘No, I would only play for one team’. I don’t know what I would do,” Mascherano was quoted as saying by The Independent on Friday. (IANS)
