International Yoga Day
The International Yoga Day will be observed on June 21 at Assam Kristi Kendra Dhankheti. The programme will be jointly organized by the Art of Living Shillong Foundation and Nehru Yuva Kendra. The programme, which is scheduled to start at 6 30 am, will have one hour’s yoga practice. A few hundred people from different walks of life are expected to participate. Sreeranjan, Meghalaya Additional Chief Secretary will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Climate conference
The inaugural session of the International Conference on Climate Change Mitigation and Technologies for Adaptation will be held on June 20. Tura MP Conrad Sangma will be the chief guest on the occasion. Meanwhile, the valedictory function of the vent will be held on June 21.
Protest
In response to the call of National Federation of Postal Employees, New Delhi , the postal employees of Shillong held a demonstration on Friday in front of the office of the Chief Post Master General, N. E. Circle. A letter was also handed over to the Chief Post Master General in charge highlighting the problems faced by the staff.
Telecast
